How-to

How do I write a UGC script that sells?

Short answer

Write four parts in plain, spoken language: a hook that stops the scroll in the first sentence, the problem your customer feels, your product as the solution with one or two concrete benefits, and a call to action that says exactly what to do next. Keep a 20-second script to about 48–60 words and a 40-second script to about 96–120. Read it out loud — if you would not say it to a friend, rewrite it.

The four-part structure

  1. Hook — one sentence that makes the right person stop. A question, a bold claim you can back up, or a relatable moment.
  2. Problem — the frustration in the customer's words.
  3. Solution — what your product does about it, with a specific detail (size, price, delivery, ingredient).
  4. Call to action — one clear next step: "Send us a DM", "Order on WhatsApp", "Visit our website".

Example: 20-second script (about 55 words)

"Small chops for your party and you don't want stress? Last time I ordered, it came late and cold. Mama T's Kitchen delivers hot, packed in trays, anywhere in Lekki, before your guests arrive. Fifty pieces start from your budget, not theirs. Send Mama T's a WhatsApp message today and book your date."

Mistakes to avoid

  • Opening with your business name instead of a hook
  • Listing every feature — pick the one or two that matter
  • Claims you cannot prove ("best in Nigeria", made-up numbers)
  • Two calls to action — choose one
  • Writing for reading, not speaking: long sentences sound rushed

Let the AI draft it

On DINEX UGC you describe the product and the AI writes a draft in this structure. Edit anything; the live counter shows when the script fits your chosen length.

Should the script mention price?

If price is a selling point or a common question, yes — it filters out people who would not buy.

Can I write in Pidgin?

Write the words you want spoken; keep spelling consistent so the voice reads it naturally. Test a short version first.
